50/50
If you watched 50/50 on Monday you would have seen an insert on renewable energy. If you missed it, you can find additional information on their website at www.5050.co.za
There is a discussion forum on renewable energy with a panel of experts to answer your questions.
I am trying to get one of the experts to give us a lecture in the following weeks. If we do get our project going and install the PV panels on the roof with the lightbulb and banner, we may even get some media coverage on 50/50. I still need some people to help me paint the banner. You will be informed on a date and time that we can sit and paint the banner.

Environmental Geology II Study Guides
The study guides for environmental geology II (EGE201T) have been printed and are ready to be picked up from the department's offices.

Unlike the stacks of paper on the picture, I managed to fit your entire study guide on a single piece of paper (all 7 pages). The electronic version will be emailed to you if you cannot read the fine text. We have to make a difference somewhere and seeing to boxes of paper being used to print stuff, I think it is in fact a good place to start.

Perchlorate found in Martian soil
The Phoenix Mars lander has apparently found perchlorates in the soil samples it was analyzing. Perchlorates are toxic to most forms of life here on earth and this is bringing some doubt into the minds of those trying to find life on the red planet.
