Tip number 152: Dust up a storm

Instead of throwing away old T-Shirts and letting the material go to
waste, tear them up and use instead of shop-bought dusters. You'll
have a never ending supply of rags for cleaning and wiping up, and
they can simply be washed and reused time and time again.

Tip number 149: Limit your electrics

Try to limit the amount of electromagnetic equipment in each room of
your house. Electromagnetic equipment emits radiation, which is
believed to be harmful to health. It also causes static build-up. Aim
for no more than one or two electrical items per room.

Tip number 148: Look after your butt

It is estimated that a third of all smoked cigarettes end up as
litter. Make sure that your cigarette has been put out properly and
you dispose of the butt in a waste bin or designated area.

Tip number 142: Paper your lamps

Choose paper lampshades rather than plastic because they are much
easier to manufacture and dispose of. They are also available in many
different colors to compliment your room scheme. Choose those with
metal or wood bindings, rather than plastic.

Tip number 141: Buy Second-hand

Instead of always buying new items for your home, think about visiting
markets, second-hand stores and car boot or garage sales. You may pick
up a few bargains and at the same time contribute to reducing waste.

Tip number 140: Dust off appliances

Invest in a dust cover to cover any electrical equipment, such as
televisions, Dvd players and computers. This prevents dust from being
taken into the air vents and reducing performance, which in turn,
makes them less energy efficient.
